Stories

"Love Hurts"

Nothing says teenage romance like a love triangle that ends in a family meeting at a federal penitentiary.

In February 2024, Victoria took the stage at Portland's Old Church for a Moth Story Slam on the theme "Love Hurts." She shared the story of being caught between a hot high school guy named Jay and her older sister Bell. When her dad finds out, he calls a family meeting in the Atlanta Federal Penitentiary, where he's serving 18 years for marijuana smuggling.

The audience gasped and laughed. They may have cried a little. And Victoria won her first Story Slam at the Moth.

"Drama"

When the daughter of your dad's mistress—who happens to be your mom's ex-best friend—drives donuts on your front lawn, there's only one thing to do: toilet paper her house.

In June 2025, Victoria took the stage at Portland's Holocene theatre for a Moth Story Slam on the theme "Drama." She shared the story of that night when, at age 9, she and her three siblings set out for revenge. They're mid-roll when someone steps onto Diana's front porch.

You'll never guess who it was.

The audience hooted and gasped as the hits kept rolling in this tale of family chaos and revenge.

"Now or Never"

Why does a middle-aged woman cry uncontrollably at high school cross country races?

In October 2025, Victoria took the stage at Portland's Moth Grand Slam—held at the historic Aladdin Theatre before a sold-out crowd—to answer that question. The theme of the night was "Now or Never," and Victoria shared the story of watching a teenage runner named Annamarie break away from the pack in a do-or-die moment, and Victoria's own inexplicable sobs that followed every time.

In the spirit of Everything, Everywhere, All at Once, Victoria's story reveals how that season of her life was part vortex, part marathon—and how she limped her way to the finish line.

Her first Grand Slam, Victoria shared the stage with nine other storytellers whose tales took the audience from butterfly gardens to bootleg cellars to Hollywood sets.
